You know, its sad that we "I" don't have a good memory. Only through the magic of the internet, do I know that on, or about, April 28, 2001 that we started "Swamp Beach" at swampbeach.homestead.com. I can find a record back that far and that seems, to my poor memory, to be about right. The name "Swamp Beach" came from the union of Alicia and me. I grew up near the Okefenokee swamp and Alicia grew up near the coast. You can use your imagination from there to get the name. Well, in 2002 we met Todd Gwynn who purchased the domain name swampbeach.com for us and we started our own "true" website. Everyone, I think, in the family remembers this and has participated at one time or another since then. In late 2005 a problem started on the server that we had used, for free, from Todd. Due to other technical and space issues, we purchased swampbeach.net which never really took the place of swampbeach.com. Also, for weeks, access was restricted to swampbeach.net by an outside, successful, hack on the site.
On that day in April of 2001, I had a vision of a site that all our family members, immediate and extended, could go to interact with each other and enjoy. To some degree or another, that has happened but has been limited by the site itself. We now offer to you a new domain name and a new website that will be more all inclusive. All of you will be provided your own family web page and be given the tools to maintain it. It is our sincere hope that this website will accomplish the goal of keeping our scattered family together.
